No, no, cmon now, the people of this sub have assured me this is not happening and completely made up. But also, even if it IS happening, which it totally isn't, what's the harm? Kids should start their sexualization journey in 1st grade IMO. It should go, walking for the first time, reading for the first time, 1+1=2, sexually transitioning.

Though, maybe cut back on the whole underwear thing till they can tie their own shoes

2nd grader? Come on. I hope parents can do something about it. This is crazy stuff.

These are people who believe the child belongs to the state, but only if the state policies match their personal viewpoints.

Julian is a Mermaid is a fantastic book. It’s about a kid who is supported by family and treated kindly for expressing different interests and feelings and not following traditional gender norms regarding dress. He dresses like a mermaid for a mermaid parade.

Of course the right wing snowflakes are losing their minds at the idea of not presenting transgender people as anything but evil abominations.

Toroceratops t1_iyeeay6 wrote

Why? They’re part of our society and just as valuable and worthy of understanding as anyone else. I’d say as valuable as you, but I know between a transgender person and you who I’d much rather have in my society.

Yeah it seems like making an mountain out of an non-existent ant hill if you ask me. Sounds like OP has a problem with LGBTQA folks.. kinda lame in 2022, if you ask me.

I rely on the Libs of TikTok Twitter feed for all my factual information. I would never think to verify the accuracy of said tweets. Just as I always accept every Reddit post as truth without question.

/s just in case it’s not clear.

Fun move to go from an assumption to a statement of fact. Just to clue you in, that’s not how facts actually work. Nor would it matter if you found a majority of bigots to oppose this. It doesn’t make the bigotry right.

Yeah like OP says he rather see parents teach their kids about stuff like this. Yeah nah homie, if parents like you are out there who think it would be even remotely appropriate to compare a already demonized, and let’s face it persecuted minority, to rapist, murders and serial killers.. should be a massive red flag to the rest of us ALL, why this needs to be done by a person who specializes in teaching children in a rational manner, and not be left in the hands of chuckle dicks like this. This is the civil rights fight of our time, and just like we would teach our kids about the civil rights movement of the 1960s, and figures like MLK, or even just have a down to earth talk with kids about race, or ethnicity in school this topic is no different. Kids are going to grow up into a diverse world where they should learn some empathy for the betterment of society and humanity in general.

I have two very cis boys. Both did dress up and ran around naked when they were seven. Hell, my teen still throws on his Mom's heels for a goof. Being unsure about gender is a pretty natural part of early development. It is only fucked up when adults sexualize it. Usually, these adults are the ones who are the most dangerous.

Man, I just... I just do not give a shit and I have a well established suspicion people that go around looking for these types of stories don't really either and only want to use those kinds of one of stories to beat a minority group with in a manner that Milligram would weep with how correct he is.

I mean I went to school and we learned from this book that said a town raped angels that were playing as needing visitors and then the town was destroyed because of it. Is that any better than this story?

Cause clearly you have an issue with this.. so why all the hate? You do realize this is how any rational adult will view this post, and more so when framed with the subsequent other shit you posted here, you know this right? Like you think we are the extremists here, I'm here to inform you, you that's YOU. If you are ignorant to this fact, you really need to be more self aware bud.

mynameisnotshamus t1_iyeziio wrote

What is your reasoning for this being wrong? For transgendered people being wrong? It’s clear you have an issue with a segment of society and you’d rather ignore that segment than simply saying they exist, they, like other groups are mostly good people who just want to live a happy and productive life. But because they are different from you, you’re scared I guess. That’s fine- people get scared all the time. Understand your fears and look at them. I’d hope you’d realize there is nothing to be afraid of, and it’s not worth your energy to be fearful.

Older people - including myself need to realize our viewpoints are outdated. If younger people are good with something then that’s how it’s going to go. It’s their world more than ours. Stop fighting it. Try to live a happy life and help others be happier along the way.

I mean the actual moral of the Sodom and Gomorrah allegory is to treat the needy as well as you possibly can (the inscribed gold) and to act humbly in the face of works done in the name of God (which any good cause can fill in for).

So... Maybe you're in a moral panic? Maybe? Something that doesn't really happen en masse in CT...
