Saw it out of the corner of my eye while traveling northbound on I-395, just past Plainfield Service Plaza. It was off to the north-west.

You probably did see one, they’re more common than you think and being in CT we’re lucky enough to see them more often than most Americans!

I was driving back to western Massachusetts on the Taconic from visiting family in NY, and my partner and I saw this fireball in the northwest sky. Pretty wild, bright white with a tail that reminded me of a crackling sparkler.

It was that tail that was so surprising to me. Even in the middle of a fairly well lit intersection I could see the bright red tail go through the sky.
