M&T Bank ATM Charges

Any other M&T bank users who have noticed charges (all of a sudden) for using non M&T ATMs? I’m being charged in addition to the service fees that I’ve paid with the original withdrawals.

Since the beginning of November I’ve accrued about $15 in these “Non M&T ATM” fees. Prior to that point M&T had been reimbursing me for the service charges I had been paying on ATM transactions. Not sure what the reason for this is, or if they might be pulling a snake move.

They kept on extending fee waivers for former People’s United customers. Now they’re bringing them in line with the rest of their rather mediocre service.

Check M&T's Fee Schedule. By law, they have to list them.

I switched to a credit union about 10 years ago. Without exaggeration it was a great move and I’ve been extremely happy with the move. I highly recommend getting out of banks and into a credit union.

Peoples Bank did this, you pay the service charge at the machine to the company that owns the machine I assume then a charge on your statement that Peoples would collect

Think OP is talking about another fee on top of that for using a foreign ATM, it's a common crap bank move and M&T is definitely that.

You pay the charge at the atm then a charge on your statement as well. You pay twice, you saying you pay 3 times?

I’m saying I pay twice. i.e. $3.25 to the ATM owner and then M&T charged me $3.00 on top of that a few days later

Yeah Peoples did that to me before MT took over. May have to do with what kind of account you have, peoples was charging me for not having a certain minimum, it’s an account I don’t use primarily so I “downgraded” I guess to one where I could have less but I think subject to more fees.

Ask for a courtesy and see if they will waive, they should especially bring early in the takeover
