I'm looking for a local Mac tool truck, preferably in Hartford/Tolland/Windham County. I've been calling shops all morning and nobody has a Mac account it seems. Called corporate and they won't give me any info unless I have a shop. If anyone knows a local distributor I'd appreciate it.

So you're looking to buy off the truck, without an account, without a shop affiliation?

I would think any customer is a good customer, garage or not. Especially these days when there are so many other options.

I see one in Southbury at Willies Garage from time to time. They might be able to help

Correct. I have a snap on dealer whos route I know and I can catch him. Unfortunately the tool I'm looking for is only available through Mac, but Mac trucks are proving rather difficult to find.

I would agree. Unfortunately the tool I'm looking for, while not being made by them, is only sold and branded under the Mac name. The lady at Mac corporate was reluctant to give me any contact info to an independent truck without an affiliation to a shop.

From Vernon to Enfield there is no rep showing on their site.

If you use the distributor search on their main page for a shop that isn't served by them, you'll then get a button that will allow you to shop online instead.

I came to the same discovery. I prefer a sales rep through a truck, 1 to give them business, and 2 so I establish a rapport for any warranty claims. I found a shop who put me in touch with a truck that runs the 91 corridor, got what I needed ordered so it all worked out.

Thanks for all who offered feedback. Managed to get in touch with a truck and get stuff on order.

They're designed to be able to remove stripped torx heads. There is also a set that does stripped hex heads. Stanley black and Decker owns the tool brands Mac and Proto, as well as the patent on these two types of sockets. As a result, they sell the hex set for about $115 through Mac and about $70 through proto, however the torx set is $200 and is exclusive to Mac and of course it's the one I need. No other company stateside has a product even remotely similar and I'd rather give the local owner operator the business than ordering through Mac corporate. My current application is a T40 with stripped cams on a pressure plate fastened to my engine. There isn't any clearance next to the bolt head to use the standard $18 bolt extractors, and I'm not chancing an e-z out to make it worse. I've been in this position before, I'm sure this won't be the last is how I've justified it. Frankly, if they work as intended, this set will pay for itself at its first use.
