New Jersian here 👋 Need mini weekend trip date recommendations

Looking on driving out on a Friday after work next month and staying in CT until Sunday evening and drive back home as a mini weekend date getaway. I know Stamford is close to NJ as it gets in CT any places closes to NJ in CT you suggest staying for the mini weekend trip and things to do on the full day Saturday while we are up there? I’ll drive normal and get out the left lane if I’m not passing anyone Thank you!

In inn at longshore in Westport us stunning. When I have family come visit I always put them up there and they love it.

Would recommend south Norwalk, great place to bar hop or get some coffee and stroll around during the day. Greenwich is also a stunning place to drive around and gawk at the mansions. Both of these are very close to Stamford. If you want to drive a little further, New Haven is my favorite city with so much to do. Free museums during the day and bustling nightlife. Food for every palate too.

I haven't been through Fairfield county yet, but had planned on hitting up the following soon on a day trip. Saw someone post some pics of a cool looking quasi-religious building & grounds not too far from there, but don't recall the name or details.

I’ll never understand what the appeal is of either. If there’s a show, sure. Otherwise… trashy people, cigarette smells and throwing money away. Plus a long drive to get there. Yeee hawr!

Some great food, some good museums. A pretty unique type of New Englandy nature, good breweries, hiking, more water related things in the summer, mountain biking, hiking. Fall fairs.

What are you looking for? What does anyplace that’s not a major city offer that’s different?
