What's the beef? They're letting the customer know that they aren't including the tax in their calculation.

It's just an aid for all customers and it is printed there by the restaurant's Point of Sale system software. The world doesn't revolve around you.

20% of $65 is $13. They’re suggesting $82.77. So clearly not just 36 cents.

Because it’s added to the final number with tax, they just clarified that it was calculated pre tax. Math is sound

For those who missed the point of the post, as stated on receipt tip calculation doesn’t include tax. 20% of $65 is $13. So total would be 65+13 = 78. But its $82.77 on the receipt 🤷‍♂️
