Got a quote of $1,175 for a small car in early March. I'll get more quotes but wondering if anyone out there recently did this and if this seems like a fair price? Any recommendations? It's almost double what I paid a few years ago but I suppose that is expected given gas prices. Thanks

You could probably hire some retired dude to do it for less.

Seriously. A few hundred bucks and a plane ticket home.

The gas down, a few hundred in pay and a couple hundred for plane ticket? Equals more than $1,100

We just had an older Toyota Solara shipped from West Palm to CT last month and it was right around there.

Did you look at the Amtrak auto train? They ought to be able to run your car down to some point on the East Coast of Florida, I would think. I have family in FL that takes the auto train to NY each summer, so they don't have to drive all the way up from FL to NY.

Not sure what Amtrak charges, though.

I’ll drive it down for the cost of gas (actual with receipts) and $400. Covers my food, plane ticket home and a couple days down in Sarasota with my fam.
