Hello all!

Wondering if I could get some help from the community here after reaching out to B&L customer support was a dud.

I recently picked up this blender from a thrift store for a pretty great deal, all things considered - model # is BL2010BGC. Only problem is the little drive disc/gear that attaches to the drive shaft of the motor has broken off.

Customer support bounced me off to Spectrum Brands, who informed me that the part was "not consumer replaceable." No images or schematics I could get either, oof. I tried making some little shims to try to wedge the disc back on and hope that the weight of the glass jar would hold it down, but no dice.

Not a lot of luck looking up user manuals or schematics online either. B&L's site doesn't even list it on their replacements parts list, lol...

Does anyone have this blender, or maybe have an idea of how I'd go about reconstructing this piece? The motor is working perfectly, it'd be a shame to let the whole appliance go unused cause of this one little part. Thanks!

I think your best bet might be to keep looking for a second one that you can cannibalize for parts.

I've personally always hated these linkages in blenders. I would attempt to see if any 3d printer file sites have a similar enough design for drop-in use and print with a high wall count or full infill. Even if it breaks again, it would be less than a buck of material to go again. If I couldn't find a good enough start, I would grab my calipers and mockup a design.

If I didnt have a printer, then I would think about getting another of the same or similar model for parts use when the drive motor eventually burns out. This type of blender is what I consider a "blender-like-device". Something that is designed to look and act like a blender, but ultimately fails at being one after actually using it.

Most local library’s had 3D printers you can use.

Its a low-price chinese produced product. You won't find a part for it. 3d printing might work but you still need to be able to make a design of it.

With all due respect, I wouldn’t waste time on cheap imported stuff like that. Search the thrift stores or Craigslist and just buy another one. Check Walmart, too. They have about the cheapest appliances around.
