Is there a part on top of the door that acts like a spring and can be pushed down?

Do you have any other bi folds you can compare it to?

Bi fold doors usually have three post points: 2 on the side that isn't supposed to move (top and bottom of the part next to the wall) and 1 that does. The worst part that I had in my bifold doors was keeping that third post into the slide you have in that first picture. If I had it to do again, I'd put something else there: keep it an open concept closet, or put telescoping doors on it or something. Good luck and keep us posted?

Step 1: take outside Step 2: remove any metal or plastic hardware. Step 3: cut door perpendicularly in small sections Step 4: dump gasoline on pile Step 5: light it on fire. Step 6: drink a beer.

Top 'piece' with the black disc (with screw in middle) is movable by design. Make note of it's current position and untighten screw. Move the piece about foot away keeping upwards pressure on the door.

You will now be able to maneuver the bottom peg into the bottom hinge. Slide piece back to original position and tighten screw.
