Hello I have a simple question. When do you drill pilot holes for screws for wood projects? Should/are you supposed to drill pilot holes every time? Or is there ever a time you can just screw deck screws into wood to hold it together? I'm building this wood work station first time doing something like this and am just wondering if I should drill pilot holes for the screws to hold everything together before I put in the screws or just screw it through and dont worry about that?
I want to make it to last long and it will be in a basement.
