I have a ramp leading to my outdoor patio from my house. The previous owner installed this ramp. I want to remove it, but I am unfamiliar with the fastener type. I assume they are ramset or concrete nails. Can I just pry them out? Will it damage the concrete underneath? What should I patch the holes with after?

Thanks for any on-site!

Cold chisel or a grinder will jet those smack pins off.

You can patch the holes with a small batch of concrete repair sold in a small plastic tub at about any lumber or hardware store.

They will pull out a big chunk of 'crete often if you pull them. Angle grinder FTW. I usually use hydraulic cement for small patches (sets quickly, but it's fairly dark).

If you have rebar twisters or end-cutting pliers, the shield is soft zinc and the head will pop off pretty easy, then you can pull the steel nail in the center and fish out the remaining bits of shield. I'm a big fan of two-part Sika cement in a caulking gun for quick and easy concrete repairs.

You can remove the outer casing with a sturdy flat head screw driver and a hammer. Hammer the screw driver in sideways (horizontally) on the outer casing until the screw driver hits the nail in the middle and then pull the screw driver out and there will be a gap you’ve created in the outer casing. Now you just have to hit the screw driver on an angle on both edges of the opening you’ve created and the outer casing will break off. Repeat these steps for however many anchors there are and you’ll be able to remove ramp.

Use angle grinder to remove the bolt and remove ramp. Use angle grinder to make flush with the floor. Fill and paint said floor.
