I recently bought a house which had half ass-ed loft conversion done. The conversion itself is fine for what is needed (gaming room). This is quite hard to explain but they didn't convert the wall loft all the way down to the eaves, just in the middle of the loft, so the un-converted part of the loft is just a normal loft space.
With this the radiant heat from the summer months is just to much to be in there, so I am just wondering what is the best insulation to use that goes under where the roof tiles would be?
I've done a little bit of research, I know the main ones are insulation boards, normal wool insulation of the thermafoil type insulation.
I'm in the UK with temperatures rarely getting above 30 degrees Celsius in the summer and below 0 in the winter if that helps.
Thank you for any help in advance.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I know there is closed cell insulation that could be a good option, as well as the stone wool(?) Insulation. Not sure if that's correct, but there is a porous stone type insulation that comes in slabs that is also okay for this type of project.
