Yeah sorry, it's hard to get a good photo of it. Are you referring to the very bottom where it narrows underneath the widest point?

Fortunately, there are water filtration pitchers or reservoirs.

The diffuser should be in the opening at the bottom. The spot where that narrows is where it should unscrew.
