Get a finish nail gun. Locate the studs in the wall in question. Run nails up and down on each stud at each horizontal corse of the shit lap. If u use a small enough nail u can run nails thru the ship lap and into the wallboard on angles and it will hold the shiplap as well. Watch out for wires and pipes as that could be a problem
