I think the obvious answer is yes, but there's more to the question.
First, this is for a fireplace in my house. The line runs outside under the deck to a big 100 lb tank. I don't really want to pay to have someone come fill that tank. I'd rather just switch to something smaller that I can disconnect, and then take it away to fill it whenever I need to.
So I disconnected the 100 lb tank, but I noticed that the fittings aren't the same.
(Here's the disclaimer that I'm not at all handy, don't know what I'm doing and I will get terms very wrong).
With the 100 lb tank disconnected, I was hoping I could just connect the part coming out of the regulator (?) right into the 20 lb tank instead. But seems to have a bit of a different connection. It's got... a piece on the end that I think already is in the internal part of the 20 lb tank valve.
Does that make any sense?
Anyone got any advice?
