I've bought 15m long tinsels for my house, and i've tried fixating them on my walls. I'm not the owner of my appartment, so I don't want to drill them or to use nails, so I used blu-tack. It kinda does the trick, but some parts are really weak and don't stick that well to the wall, and I have to fix them back every few days. That, and the fact that it is not really pretty (white blobs covering the tinsel here and there), led me to look for a better and prettier option to fix them to my walls. Do you have any recommendation ?

Stud wall? I've seen people use neodymium magnets to find screw/nail heads so maybe that would have enough strength to hold up tinsel?

I'd just use tacks or staples.

In all the apartments I ever lived in it was in the lease that you wouldn't be charged for holes in the wall as long as you spackled them.

When I was a kid, dad used to use clear scotch tape rolled back on itself. It worked ok, although there were always done spots that kept detaching.

yes, that's my problem with blu-tack. Also, I feel like scotch tape evolved to be super weak nowadays. I remember trying to tape just some basic posters when I was a kid, and another one not so long ago : the latter didn't stay put... and the ones from my childhood are still on my bedroom's wall.

Uhu sticky pads! I discovered them this year, after decades of using push pins, and they’re an absolute game changer! No sore thumb, no accidentally dropping one on the floor and rushing to find it before someone steps on it! Just quick and easy and it works.

I’m fully expecting to have to touch up my paintwork come January, but I can live with that!

Drawing pins on a white section of the wall or ceiling.

When it's time to go just rub a bit of toothpaste into the tiny hole to make it disappear.
