The cost of actual flooring would be 500-1000 dollars to cover my bedroom and I’d rather not spend that much. My local hardware store sells cork underlayment that is 150 dollars it doesn’t have as nice a finish as actual flooring but could I use something like a polyurethane finish to seal it? It would be used in my bedroom.

My local hardware store also sells much smaller sizes so I’ll probably try it out on a sample piece and if it doesn’t work I’ll just make a cork board

If you live near a major city, you might get some luck by doing a lot of comparison shopping from flooring wholesalers. My brother installed flooring that is sold for $12 a square foot, but was able to find it for $3.50 a square foot at a wholesaler. Good luck in your search!!

Thanks idk why I didn’t think to try that. I was able to find dozens of options for less than 6 dollars and I found on that I’m going to check out today for 1.59 per square foot
