A "mailbox type door" won't seal your container. The dog food will get stale and attract bugs. I'd suggest to save the building urge for another project and just go with a regular dog food container with a sealed lid

They use piano hinges normally... some have a step to allow a deeper material to recess. Searching "mailbox hinge" on the jungle website produced relevant results.

To snap into place, maybe you're referring to a "ball catch" type mechanism.

hmmm, I see. Thank you for helping! I'd like to research before I plan out things and then I like look up videos that I can follow which is why I asking this question so that I can at least try to go in the correct direction.
