Do you have any advice based on these pictures? Like does the pipe need to be removed? Or is it fine as is? If it should be replaced, what do you think I should use to replace it with?

I'm not sure if you want to replumb your house, but old brass fittings had lead in them. Newer lead free ones have markings to identify them. Learn more about that here

People do that with dishwashers all the time, yeah.
Clothes washer, idk. They have a pretty high discharge rate. I've never seen it under a sink like your dishwasher is.
