Hi, I am planning on painting my attic bedroom. Currently, Two of the walls are black ,and the other two are red. They have been painted over multiple times over the years. I am planning on painting these walls both mint green and a cream white. What do I do need to do to prep ,before I paint the topcoat? Just prime each wall? And also would I run into any issues down the line since they have been painted many times? Thanks!

If the current paint is solid and not peeling or bubbling a standard thorough clean, maybe a light sand if really glossy and primer should be fine.
