I should have said "almost flush" as I'm not trying to have the shed touch the house, but I wanted under 6" of gap.

strongly recommend it goes against a gable end and not an eave side. leave a healthy gap so you can clean, 6” seems fairly tight. Crushed gravel beneath the deck as well as a vapor barrier under the gravel, be sure the grade all pitches away from the house. The storage space will be excellent!
