Michigan had a large power outage last week; House was without power for 2 days, and when it came back on the fridge wasn't making ice.

Confirmed that the motor/gears still worked and that the issue was it wasn't getting water. I checked the water line going to the ice maker and there was no water in the line; however, the water line going to the fridge was still working.

So IMO, it must either be the solenoid is not working, or the solenoid is not receiving a signal. I watched a youtube video to help root cause, used my multimeter to take a few measurements, but everything seemed to measure in the range that was expected.

Any ideas what it could be? Pretty close to buying a new solenoid and checking if that fixes the issue, then if not just buying a new ice making unit, but thought I'd post here for any ideas.

Sometime, after a power loss, the ice maker needs to be reset. There’s usually a sequence of buttons, or a single button, you have to press to reset the ice maker. You can Google your brand fridge and try that

My icemaker always would get jammed up on the rotating mechanism and would freeze that in place. I'd take out the ice making mechanism and let it thaw out and good as new. Until it did it again 6 months later

Yeah the steps should be online somewhere. I remember having to do this as part of my troubleshooting. I think it involved manually moving the lever that gets pushed in when the ice tray is fully inserted. I think I had to press it in, then release it, 3x or something like that. Those steps would manually kick off the steps of pushing out the formed ice and then opening the valve to fill the ice mold w water.

If you watch what happens you can see if 1) the ice is being ejected from the mold properly, and 2) if the mold is being refilled w water.

In my case, the valve was working properly, but the fill tube (the portion of the tubing that's located on the inside of the freezer section) was frozen.

My ice maker just stopped working last week. I read up on online and found there’s a reset button. Held it down until the fridge did a little jingle and within 48 hours had a full ice bucket again.
