1. Eliminate standing water sources in your yard and around the outside of the house. Even the smallest amount like a coffee cup lid can breed larvae.

2. Install a quality bug zapper outside house.

3. They are not normally used in residential homes but they do make powerful fans that blow air out of the structure when doors are opened.

4. Rub yourself down with garlic.(just kidding)

Have you tried or have access to a Thermacell? They work great for almost all bugs, made for keeping mosquitos away.

Mosquitos are poor fliers, if you can keep a steady breeze going they'll give you less grief.

Here is Germany we have window nets that you can buy for around 3 Euro at the drugstore. It comes with a coil of velcro with a sticky backing that you cut to fit around your window sill. Then the netting sticks to the velcro, you stretch it on the velcro, and then cut to size. This works best with inward opening windows, because then you can attach the net to the outside of the frame and still open the windows. Maybe you have something like that in your country.

Here are a few from the continent where malaria is a problem. Gin and TONIC. Wash feet thoroughly and apply some vaporub very lightly so as not to skid accross floors. Mozzies love stinky feet apparently. Any Mint plants deter mozzies and rubbing some leaves to release the aroma should help too. They are drawn to heat sources. So we dont do the mozzie net, we have a fan going so they struggle to locate the heat source. We also have a gecko running along a ceiling somewhere because we dont use pesticides :)

Don’t they home in on CO2 given off in your breathing? Seems like you could use that someone to lure them into the bug zappers

We got one of these last summer and, at least in our SE lower Michigan location, on our covered porch, I found it to work pretty effectively. We also have an oscillating ceiling fan.

I forget the exact math, but all it will take is every single human being killing like 20,000 mosquitoes a year, for like 10 years. And then they will instinctively avoid humans because we will have established ourselves as predators in their genetic memories.
