I think the mods are wrong about whether this is a "documentary". Yes, it is short, but that doesn't violate any of the stated rules for the sub.

It does give insight into something I had never thought about before. She's 84 and I'm 73 ... and my wife is 77. This made me think about a woman's aging body and how that affects her view of the world and of herself. That's more than many other "documentaries" do, regardless of length.

So my unasked for opinion is ... this is a documentary, and this is the correct sub for it. Maybe it's the guidelines that need to be revisited and refined.

Thank you for you comment, I'm glad you found it meaningful. It's never too late to broaden our perspectives. I must admit that as a 51 year old woman, this topic has started to occupy my mind more and more and I seek older women's point of views and ideas and I find them comforting and enlightening. I was deeply touched by this portrait.

Also, the mods reinstated it, it was removed for its short length.

I’ve never found my face to be attractive, but I’ve recently been drawing self portraits. My experience has been like hers—it is an interesting subject if not beautiful. There is a therapy or even a profundity in exploring that space. I was very moved by her words.

Pleasure. I had the same thought. Quite powerful for such a short doc.

Thanks for posting, it’s so interesting to hear someone older talk about this. The way she talked about it, it’s like her body is some distant object. But it’s also important for her to feel like someone finds some part of it to be beautiful. I think I can feel that

What do you call men or women that are interested in older men or women? Like the opposite of a pedofile?
