I don't know that I've experienced a more dramatic "reveal" than rounding that final bend when heading into Sedona from the south and all of a sudden that valley appears before you. I've done it twice, both times around sunset, and it took my breath both times.

I lived in AZ for almost 2 years. I LOVED the 3 days we got where the skies were stormy like this. The contrast is just surreal. I actually took all 3 days off to enjoy it. Haha 3 stormy days - that's all we got those 2 years.

Sedona is surprisingly pretty. I went to the lava river cave north of there and the drive through the mountains to Sedona after was awesome. Nice pic btw

Slide Rock State Park near Sedona is one of the best state parks I've ever been to. I haven't been since I was a kid, but I hope to go back this year.
