First and only time I visited this spot, I hiked around to the left in the photo to where I could see the entire lake. I stayed there for probably 15 minutes and saw a cow elk and her calf swim across the far side of the lake. It felt like there wasn't a human within a million miles of that spot and was one of the most peaceful moments of my life.

For some reason I really want to visit this place. What does it take to get here? Looks like there's a trailhead nearby, 4wd high-clearance vehicle needed?

No, this is in Rocky Mountain National Park, so it's paved all the way to the parking at the trailhead. Any vehicle will work unless it's winter. You need a pass and a timed entry to get into the park, which you can get at the RMNP website. The hike is approximately 5.5 miles roundtrip from the trailhead.
