The loudest silence I've ever heard was at Monument Valley. Woke up just before sunrise at the hotel that's over there and just watched as the sunlight began to blanket the landscape. You could hear a pin drop. It was quite unsettling to me as someone who lives in a city, but no doubt amazing.

The Mokee Dugway is just a little north of Mexican Hat, Utah. Take a drive if you have a chance & you might recognize it from a lot of car commercials.
