Agreed! What a place, but it seems like its so overlooked all the time. Came at march, still a bit warm but bearable. Best part was it started to rain while we were in badwater basin, haha first rain in a very long time. It was incredible.

I was there with my family over Thanksgiving a few years ago. We were driving around (I can't remember the name of the area of the park, but it was a driving path through borax) and I could hear music in the distance. We went around a curve, and there was a man on top of the hill next to us playing his guitar as the sun was setting.

It was magical.

I have exactly the same picture, love Death Valley for it's stark beauty. Echo your comments about timing a visit, I last visited in late March and it was uncomfortably hot.

I went in September and I couldn’t leave my car for more than a few minutes at a time. A wildfire in sequoia was blowing smoke over the mountains which blocked out the sun a little bit but that didn’t help too much.
