The snowy ridge in this image is 5,000+ meters high, which is more than 16,400 feet high... That's about 2,000 feet taller than Mount Rainier in Washington state!

Tien Shan or Tian Shan is the Chinese name of this mountain range that forms the border between Kyrgyzstan and China and also Kazakhstan.
It means "heavenly mountains".
The Kyrgyz name may be "Tengri Tagh", but I'm not 100% sure about that.

This was shot in Sary Jaz, a remote valley in Eastern Kyrgyzstan, at an altitude of around 3000m. Sary Jaz means Yellow Valley, and the sun-burnt grass leaves no doubt as to the name. The snowcapped ridge is 5000+m high, and just behind them, at 7010m tall, Khan Tengri is just out of sight.
