This makes me very happy. It's my first post here and i kept postponing it because i wasn't sure if it held up against all these beautiful posts 😊

Was going to go there in between Berlin and Prague but you burned it down! I stayed on the train through a lot of smoke.
Another time, maybe.

I have been there in October and have literally the same shot (but a panorama and less beautiful) imgur

How was it generally? Is it really tall cliffs and beautiful scenery as far as the eye can see or are those more just a few cherry picked spots with the rest being not that spectacular? I‘m thinking about going there as well

There's really a lot of beautiful scenery, was definitely worth it imo

It's a rather small area overall, as far as mountains go. But that also means there are a lot of beautiful views within a a few minutes of each other.

Saxon Switzerland?
McFlynow81 OP t1_j1z4zvk wrote
Exactly! Two painters visited in the 18 hundreds and they agreed that it reminded them of Switzerland. So they called it Saxon Switzerland 😊

What's this place like in the wintertime? Still worth visiting, or is most of it inaccessible?
Xius_0108 t1_j1zpifq wrote
Should be just fine to visit.
