I love this tree! It's like the tree was lonely and lowered part of itself to earth so that people could sit on it, touch it, interact with it.

The tree survived all this time for being "useless." The coastal live oaks that grew with straight sturdy trunks and long horizontal branches were all felled and hauled off by British Shipwrights. All of the truly ancient live oaks share this "uselessness."

Such a magical place to visit. You just can't do it justice in photos. (Nice pic though 😉)

I've been here and it was magical. Like you're in a fantasy world. One of the few good things about S.C.

This place was so serene and beautiful when I stopped by there on my honeymoon a few years ago. Such an amazing place.

Beautiful place. I was lucky enough to visit after a once in a lifetime blizzard. It’s amazing covered in snow.

They don’t anymore. I guess you could if you still wanted I guess.. No one really stopping you. They are just trying to protect it. There are a few cables holding certain branches up.

Finding out that this tree is both not as old as people claim and also was a lynching tree really ruined it for me TBH!
