This is a staggeringly beautiful park with a fun town nearby. Try to go in the off season - the crowds can be intense and people are trash with trail etiquette.

Or start very early in the morning to avoid the crowd.

For sure. I’ve stayed at one of the small cabins in the park and it was great to beat the crowds each morning.

I rode my bike out there from Salem one time. Camped in a field. About sunrise, I woke up and was surrounded by deer.
