There's a similar body of water called Te Waikoropupu Springs on South Island, near Takaka on Golden Bay. Huuuge volumes of super clear water rising up into the lake! I didn't visit Blue Springs so I can't comment on the similarity as a roadside attraction.

I went to this place part year, and I can assure you guys that this place looks like a scene from a Disney movie. It's absolutely breathtaking..

Such an enchanting sight! Hard to estimate the sizes of those trees with the fern-like leaves. I would guess they are between 6 and 8 meters high. They look primordial, half a billion years old. I can imagine a dinosaur nosing around there.
