We got to fly around the peaks on a very clear morning. In a small Cesna plane with a very great pilot. It was so spectacular.

No worries, I used to be a river guide up there, working on the south side of the range. One of the perks was the occasional comped tour on the flightseeing planes. I've been on the glacier landing tour twice!

Gorgeous! Fun fact: if you're flying on Alaska Air and pass Denali on a clear day, the pilot usually gets fairly close to give all the passengers an amazing view.

From Anchorage, it just looks like a huge lump. But when you get up close, as this beautiful photo amply demonstrates, you see it is anything but boring!
