I used to live below coffee pot rock in the late 90s. We used to drive out of Sedona towards the “city” of Cottonwood and half way in between, go down dirt roads to get high. Half of the time, the local cops wouldn’t notice and when they did, we all survived the experience of being discovered and got taken home.

I live very close to here (Prescott) and can tell you 48 is a hidden gem! The entire northern half of the state is gorgeous. Sedona is just the tip of the iceberg!

This part of the desert is something else. I live in Maine, and I love the landscape here and thought I could never want to live anywhere else.

After driving through, I would absolutely live in Sedona.

I'll be in Sedona in the morning. Any recommended easy hikes with a view?

Bell Rock and Courthouse loop is beautiful and this picture was taken on this particular trail.

Sedona Airport loop trail is beautiful and the hike is short with views at every step.

Cathedral rock is another classic.

If you have time, I'd highly recommend the Subway Cave hike.

I hope you enjoy your time in Sedona! :)

I legitimately want to see someone try and post a bad picture they took of a landscape in Sedona. I contend it can’t be done.

I’ve been to Sedona. Beautiful city to be sure. It’s too bad it’s become more of a tourist trap.

Nice bird. Looks like a Bluebird? Can't make out the throat but looks like an Eastern or Western.

I don't have any close up shots of the bird but I remember it had a blue coat. I don't recall seeing orange colour on any of its body parts.

I didn't even know I had captured the bird until I bumped up the shadows while editing the picture haha!!

One of the most memorable days of my life was seeing that there was a solar eclipse in the newspaper that was going to cross the grand canyon, dropping everything I had that day and blasting up I-17 to go see the eclipse.

Even though it was only an annular eclipse rather than a total eclipse, just being at the grand canyon with all of these people experiencing the nature of the canyon and the eclipse happening, where everyone is there together to experience the eclipse was absolutely mystical.

Definitely one of the greatest days of my life.

It's quite the sight!

I think it doesn't get as much attention as other areas because it's not a national park. It's kind of a mess of private land, state and municipal parks as well as BLM land. There's a ton of natural beauty but also a lot of commercial development.

Devil's Bridge is a good one just overpopulated these days, so, I'd suggest starting early. October would be a perfect time to hike Wet Beaver Creek (yeah, that's the name they went with lol) and Thunder Mountain is an otherworldly experience, especially if you can witness a haboob roll in!

I believe that’s bell rock? I climbed quite a ways up it when I was sixteen. I climbed until my dad screamed at me to get my ass back down to them. 😂 I love climbing but man it made him nervous on our vacays
