I once did some oil field work there a long time ago in like 110 degree weather.

Appropriately named based on its history "According to legend, the park is so named because of its use as a natural corral by cowboys in the 19th century, where horses often died of exposure."

I hate the name. It's so beautiful but the name and the story behind it make it too sad. Hard not to imagine what they did to the horses.

But in all seriousness, it's totally worth it to visit. Sunrise or sunset photo will be a winner on most days.

It’s not. The view from Horsehoe Bend is a lot different.
