Never? Tomorrow? Something in between? Since there is no path from the current state of the art to there, it entirely depends on a paradigm shifting breakthrough occurring and there is no way to predict if or when one will happen.

I believe we will get something user friendly and a bit similar to what you are asking for within 3-10 years based on what is already possible with Image generators/video generators/blender chatgpt plugin. Sorry about you getting negativity thrown at you. It’s not a stupid question at all.

and this is why we’re doomed. The most advanced tech mankind has ever seen and this is the garbage people want to create. Not, how do we save the planet and the 8 billion people on it. No, let’s fantasize about meaningless scenes from video games.

This sounds like misdirected and misplaced anger and frustration - many of us share the same frustrations, but I think your response is a little unwarranted and makes a number of assumptions.

Programming is not worthless. It has countless applications.

Messaging /Communication is not worthless per se. It can be used in a multitude of ways, including to educate and inform.

And even if we focus purely on entertainment, yes we could abandon all attempts at entertainment because the world is crumbling, but I’m not sure that will change much in reality, unfortunately. Everyone needs down-time, even people who spend the rest of their time saving the planet. AI could perform jobs/tasks that will be done regardless of whether we like them or not, and do then far more efficiently (cutting down on development time could cut down on power-usage, emissions etc in a number of industries).

Content/entertainment…..

There will definitely be people to use AI tech to save the planet.

I envision artificial meat that is indistinguishable from real meat, and a process to remove salt from water, making the ocean (which covers the planet more than land) 100% safe, clean, and drinkable).

And nanotechnology to fix things inside us.

Some hyper advanced method of modifying the brain like a computer, much better than giving people drugs with unknown reactions and side effects (that’s all psychiatry is)……

I care about that stuff too, but why in the world did you bring this up? So off topic……

Giving people the means to express themselves is the thing that saves the planet. The problem is not not enough resources but mostly the fact we are willing to kill and exploit each other. So doing things that develop our culture is helping us survive. It is often the utilitarian approach to life that makes life miserable and miserable people are more willing to exploit each other

What an Asinine and ridiculous comment. How is that supposed to save the planet? How is that going to stop CO2 emissions, stop our ocean current from collapsing, stop desertification, and clean up the monumental amount of pollution in our cities and countrysides? How does creating a video in "4k, 60fps" going to reverse climate change? stop a complete ecological collapse?

It isn't and "preserving our culture" means jack shit when our planet is no longer liveable. Just stop and think before posting such stupid and ridiculous comments.

Seriously, I just asked about AI’s potential to generate animation and edit videos using simple human instruction.

Why am I being attacked for COMPLETELY unrelated reasons?

SMG4 is a great content creator. They even make high quality content using low-budget means! They’ve also branched out into higher quality original content (Meta Runner, Sunset Paradise, Murder Drones).

I’m too dumb like SMG4’s version of Mario to use all that confusing video editing software.

Dreams for the PS4/PS5 is the closest thing I’ve seen to making creating digital content (including/especially videogames) accessible and understandable to the average person.

I’m basically asking about a potentially even more advanced and automated version of Dreams.

Yet, I’m attacked by environmentalist extremists.

Go protest mega corporations, not me.
