This entire post is moral panic. Are any of you teenagers? They are negotiating a world that we don't understand and they communicate with each other very differently than most of us ever have. If a teen is comforted by an AI then so what? This generation feel far more comfortable texting than talking. They won't go to counsellors and helplines like previous generations, they will increasingly go to AI and hand wringing won't stop it. We need to help them navigate.
