this new sentience will be more compassionate and empathetic than we are, empathy increases with higher consciousness is the trend, and only breaks down because of fatigue, limitations of the vessel new sentience will be able to show empathy without fatigue.

I do agree that empathy and morality seem to come with greater intelligence. After all, if you just looked at a group of chimps, you probably wouldn't think "oh if they were smarter they'd care about ethics and the environment and stuff", and yet we do.
