one step closer to not having to pay a human to operate a vehicle. Lyft, Uber, Doordash, etc and giddy at the idea of not having to share profits with those pesky humans who expect to be treated decently.

Farming first... Freight 2nd.. THEN drivers will start worrying.. This is just a small test. I still remember writing a paper for school on how completely autonomous cars will be on the road by 2020.. It's 2022.. Needless to say I'm jaded at this point.

Don't give up hope. Around 1995 I wrote a paper about legalized marijuana. October 17 2018 it happened. (I'm Canadian)

Idk man

This channel has some really impressive stuff from Tesla and other open source Ai navigators.

I was blown away at some of the situations it gets itself out of and through. Especially in the videos taken driving around Beverly Hills.

I 100% believe it's coming.. I just don't know if we'll see fully autonomous civilian vehicles before 2030 at this point. I'm a HUGE CCP Grey fan and loved this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6tgmGqXysMThe problem is edge cases and that's hardly even been scratched, so I just dont see it happening soon. Farming rarely has edge cases and it's already pretty automated at this point VIA GPS. So I really think it'll be the first proof of work when it comes to fully autonomous.

Edit: Just out of curiosity, I searched Autonomous Farming and found this article. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/02/how-deere-plans-to-build-a-world-of-fully-autonomous-farming-by-2030.html

Eh, after reading 37 Republican Senators refused to back a bill codifying interracial marriages, with millions of Americans in direct support?

Fuck humans lol, ill enjoy the technology aspect of this.

I mean that’s the cynical way of looking at technological advancement.

Did we think the people who invented and adopted locomotives were doing it out of the kindness of their hearts? Or did we think they were losing sleep every night at eventually putting the entire industry of horse-drawn carriages out of business.

It will be a much more pleasant consumer experience without having to deal with your average driver.

and whats the problem with that? sharing profits? if those humans dont want that job then dont work or work some other job.

This is proliferating faster than the public seems to realize - I've seen people 'predicting' on tech think that level 4 isn't even here. We're going to see mass adoption in major cities within the next couple years honestly, and I wouldn't be surprised to see level 5 later this decade.

At this point, GTA 6 will have to be GTA: Autobot City.

From the article.

>Motional, the autonomous vehicle joint venture between Hyundai and Aptiv, is bringing its robotaxis to Los Angeles, where they will be available to hail through the Lyft app.

>The service is comprised of Motional’s fleet of Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric vehicles, which will be fully autonomous at the time of launch and not require a human safety driver behind the wheel.

My prediction was that there would be fleets of robo-taxis in the US, not later than 2025. A lot of people don't agree with me, but it is what it is.

The cars are reaaally slow and it takes months to roll out for each city. Also, with cold weather, it is not even being rolled out in northern cities anytime soon.

Pretty sure that’s the only company that is running right now. Although lots of companies are testing it out. Austin is next, I believe. These cars can’t go fast. They’re still learning and testing.
