My bet would be life extension and youth extension technologies

This seems unethical. Life extension should be equally available.

It's absolutely unethical, however take a look at the price increase for insulin and EpiPen's in the US to see how little that can matter.

Just like having a place to live, it won't be.

I think at least one difference here is that "treatments" are distributable and dividable in a way that housing isn't. We have a housing shortage in a way that I don't think we could have a "life extension medication shortage"— ie. whereas any degree of life extension is an advantage, a house is only beneficial as a whole. Life extension seems easier to share equitably. But, yeah, I don't disagree that life extension won't be fairly distributed without hard or impossible political work.

Advanced virtual reality / brain machine interface devices. We have already heard from early BMI companies that they can forsee selling their products to consumers at prices as low as 10-thousand dollars (ex. neuralink). It seems like, similar to cars and homes, people will be very careful with such purchases and they will be long term commitments.

They will sell it as a service. If you don’t keep your payments up they will downgrade your ability. Sorry. You didn’t keep you IQ payments up, or eyesight, hearing, seizure control. It won’t be pretty. Auto makers are already ready fooling around with this. Pay higher monthly fee to unlock heated seats, or more horsepower.

Does higher education not count as a big purchase? Right now that is the most expensive thing I have ever paid off.

You are correct higher ed is rated as one of life’s biggest expenses. I was more focusing on the things we purchase to lie about our success to others. Well, now that I think about it, college falls into that as well… so yeah, why not.
