Seems like you could just limit the solar output to the grid to match the local grid vs upgrade anything. Few homes would be sending out more power than their home draws at peak use.

Well the problem from what I understand is that the power company can refuse to hook it up if they feel it is too big. Otherwise I would do your suggestion or when money allowed buy batteries
