you're reffering to slangs, I believe. That's a stupid take, we always had them and once people don't consider them cool anymore they move on. Furthermore, academic papers will not accept shortended words.

Not really. Slang is like a spin off of a certain word like bad neughbourhood - gutter. This are just shorter versions of existing words, and when they are used long enough and frequently the linguists will start adding them into dictionaries

Even if words get added to the dictionary that doesn't mean they will get replaced. And it doesnt even take a genius to find out that sus is not suitable to cover suspicion, suspect, suspicious and so on.

Words were already shortened hundreds of years ago. Just look at some old English literature and you’ll find a lot of extra letters.

Bad take. These words are used by kids. I highly doubt the words kids use will be the one that everyone will use. As a 26 year old, I don’t use such words. I also doubt you can use such words for formal letters and academics.

Edit: I also wanted to add that our generation also either came up with words or shortened others and used them all the time as the ‘trending word’ before it all died out. Let’s not give kiddy words such attention

Nah, they are shortened because it's easier to thumb type a short word and to add, now that autocorrect is so prevalent many people are losing the knowledge of proper spelling.

I don't think they were shortened because they sound better, that is what I said. They were shortened because it was easier to type. Remember having to hit a number key three times to get a "C" or an "F"?

Basically, human language constantly cannibalizes words, and then sticks new prefixes and suffixes on them.

That's the nature of languages; they change. Many words we use today and accept were once longer and considered slang at one point. Eventually, people accept them as proper and they get added to the normal lexicon. That doesn't mean "longer words will soon disappear" just some words are shortened...
