The most important thing we learn in school is how to learn what you don't know - how do I make a net to catch that particular fish in that river of information that's constantly moving. For example, when we learn about combustion in school, most people learn that fire needs an oxidant and fuel. Cool, that's accurate and useful - in my school they also taught us the phlogiston theory and by what experiments it was debunked - that's the other part of education, how to test your knowledge for accuracy instead of latching on to the factoids, how to supersede established knowledge.
