Certain drugstores in Canada will give you a free kit. All you need to do is ask at the pharmacy counter. They say to keep it in your purse or a bag or whatever and not to leave it in the dash of your car .. I happened to mention to the pharmacist about putting it in my glove compartment, but she said the temperature range here (-20⁰C or so in winter and 35⁰C or so in summer) wouldn't be good for the narcan/naloxone and could spoil it.

I’d be cautious about when and where you do this. Definitely a good idea to carry it, but just be careful: https://www.cheknews.ca/victoria-police-officer-stabbed-with-needle-while-administering-naloxone-to-unconscious-person-1144543/

How unfortunate for the officer.

It was a bit shocking to me that a bunch of people attacked him when he was administering the naloxone.

It's baffling, tbh. But, in all consideration, maybe they had their reasons to try to stop him, but not like that. My only guess is that they either didn't like the person that needed help and wanted them to od or maybe that person was their friend and voiced their wishes to them of basically a dnr or something. Some of the addicted people I've known have wished for death and would voice that. I'm definitely not condoning the attacker's actions at all and the police were there doing their job. Just thinking of a reason why is all. But then again, maybe the attacker hated cops. Regardless, tragic all around.
