Whoever wrote this doesn't know shit about lions. What makes them the best is that they fight in prides, together, not the courage. I've seen prides of lions run away from badgers, crocodiles, hippos and humans with sticks while heavily outnumbering them. They're still scared cats and won't take a fight if they risk injury.
