This environment is quite literally going to limit how far the plants can grow

I mean, as far as a plant is concerned, that’s a pretty decent environment.

IWindsOfMidgets t1_j5xz6wg wrote

Yeah, and how most people under 30 are growing, like this plant, is imprisoned, or behind an artificial ceiling/block that could quite easily be removed. Or maybe a very small number may be lucky enough to align and squeeze through the gaps.

Did you hear about the rose that grew

from a crack in the concrete?

Proving nature's law is wrong it

learned to walk with out having feet.

Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,

it learned to breathe fresh air.

Long live the rose that grew from concrete

when no one else ever cared.

I think someone should repost this in r/plants to trigger a whole bunch of people.

2

ooglieguy0211 t1_j5xoku2 wrote

It'd probably trigger a bunch but I bet many would argue that all the debris down there, plus consistent water, plus sunlight often, would be a pretty good environment for a plant. What little soil is down there is probably pretty nutrient rich. I'll wait for your update on how that cross post went.

Actually, kinda more depressing than motivational. You're still trapped by circumstances beyond your control and the more you grow the more constricting it becomes. Better to remain stunted and have plenty of room to stretch out.
