Hello! I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me out. I’m a travel nurse in the Hartford area until the beginning of December. I have my dogs with me and my elderly dog is developing some urinary issues. I really need him to be seen by a very but I called a couple and they don’t have any availability for new patients until the new year. I don’t want to completely establish care with a new vet because we don’t actually live here and I will be gone by the new year so that won’t work either.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a vet that might be able to see us in a sooner time frame than January? My boy and I would be very appreciative!

We are actually in Manchester so anything more in the eastern part of Hartford would be preferable but I’m willing to drive to get to a good vet.

Thanks so much!

Not sure if they’re taking new patients, but we love Farmington Animal Hospital. Also, what about going to an Emergency Vet? I know it’s not ideal, but may be better than waiting for months.

VCA Vet Specialists of CT in West Hartford has always been great to us. They also have a "specialty" (aka emergency) wing so if the general practice doesn't have availability, you can go to the other side, a little more expensive and maybe a longer wait time, but might be easier to get into.

Dr. Sprague at Glastonbury Veterinary Hospital has been our vet for almost a decade, and we love her and the whole office! Glastonbury is a short drive from Manchester. Good luck!

For emergency vet services we usually use piper memorial in Middletown or Central Vet in North Haven. Both are amazing
