New to the Northeast, looking for recommendations about good hikes within 30ish minutes of the Hartford area. I want to enjoy my first real fall, and all that :)

Many of the sections of the New England trail are right in your backyard, and include a number of “payoff” moments (sweeping views, cool things to look at, etc)

With the colors how they are right now, hike up to Hubelin Tower this weekend. You will not be disappointed.

Case Mountain in Manchester has a nice view of Hartford, especially if you're looking for a sunset (and a dark walk back). In Somers, check out Soapstone Mountain, it's got a fire tower lookout that's got a really nice view. If you're willing to travel a little further to Monson, MA, Peaked Mountain Reservation has some really incredible views in a few different spots.

I second Heublein tower. Fun and rewarding hike and you can go to Talcott Mountain Collective after.
