I'm a 20+ year resident of Hartford. And need a local resident to fill me in on this mystery. For as long as I can remember, at least several years. There's this guy who drives around the city, playing a cowbell as he's driving. He's currently driving an older black SUV. Typically find him driving in the South End. But I see(or hear him rather) even in my neighborhood near in the North End by Homestead/Albany Ave. It's not annoying or anything like that. I'm just curious about the guy. And just totally fascinated about the story, if any, behind who is this guy driving around the city playing this cowbell. It's silly post I know. But there's GOTTA be something more behind all of this.

I have been wondering this as well! He drives down Main Street every day around 5 PM. Windows open, cowbell banging in time with the tunes. I have observed him personally at street level, he is alone in the car (black SUV, Ford I think). Living his best cowbell dreams.

Ok so it's not just me then. He is a thing! Feels weird getting validated lol. Honestly I thought my question would sound like I was crazy imagining things. Initially would never see him, only hearing a block or so away. This lasted for years. then one day while catching the bus I caught a glimpse of a guy driving and vaguely seeing from a distance what appeared to be motion by the wheel. I had my first sighting in the wild! And now I can't remember a time in Hartford without him driving around. And always in a truck/SUV.
